It looks black but i believe it is a dark brown. The chaise part is on the left side. It has a ottomon that comes with it that spans the length of the sofa seats. It is already taken apart as i am ready for it to go! There is nothing wrong with it, i am just looking to make room for a treadmill and to get a smaller chair. Its 2 yrs old. Bought with a 7 yr protection plan, so about 5 yrs left. I have the warranty, so will be happy to hand it over! It comes from a home with 2 dogs, but i have done a really good job of cleaning it off! It has been taken apart and the blocked off so the dogs can't get on it anymore.
