Role Summary/Purpose: This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and innovative professional that has a depth of experience in working with automated processes using advances in material handling, part handling, material presentation and tracking using lean principles with expertise in automated manufacturing systems design, modeling, build and deployment.
Essential Responsibilities: The Manufacturing Systems Design Engineer will lead the project evaluation phase including visit to GE plants, the development of project proposals, system design and modeling, specification development and the collaboration with suppliers for the build and installation at our business unit sites. The design and build of automated and flexible manufacturing systems will include material handling system, AGV/AGC, tooling, fixturing robotic end:effectors and mechanical integration of conveyors and other smart monitoring systems.
This role is responsible for developing and deploying station and system level automated manufacturing systems for industrial applications including machining, joining, additive and other unique processes. The Manufacturing Systems Design Engineer will also assign, define, develop, design, build and integrate novel automation technologies to assure single line flow automation.
