G:TECH Services is seeking a Process Engineer for a direct, salaried opportunity, with a tier one Automotive Supplier located in the Metropolitan Detroit area. Qualified Engineering candidates willworkwithin the Supplier Quality Assurance / Material Group Management. This is avery technical/process expert role, that provides guidance to the supplier base in regards to process improvements, suggestions and will also performtechnical assessments of the supplier facilities to identify the level of competencies thatare in place for future business.This position reports to the Supplier Quality Manager for North and South America.Quality will be part of this position but the main skills must be related to process engineering in high pressure die casting.Will perform regular VDA Audits to see if a supplier meets both the technical and quality requirements.Technical specialist for the development in the current and new suppliers for the stamping and die casting commoditiesproviding technical support.Systematically supervising and supporting suppliers of the respective materials group with regard to performance and further development of the suppliers together with the MGM Manager in Purchasing. Systematically supporting implementation of the necessary quality requirements.Evaluating the quality capabilities of suppliers within the context of selecting suppliers on the basis of companyrequirements. Releasing new suppliers, new locations and new processes in consultation with superiors andinvolved entities.Involvement in the construction discussions on deployment of the correct materials, taking into account characteristics and designs compatible with materials and manufacturing, norms, customer requirements, etc.Supporting the SQA in accomplishing the quality pre:planning for new parts, processes and procedures. *training will be providedin quality methodology and procedures.*Initiating and monitoring programs at selected suppliers with regard to continual quality improvement. Documentingprogress and demonstrating the quality improvements at internal management meetings.Conducting supplier discussions at regular intervals with Purchasing, Logistics and Development regarding the overall performance of a supplier.Advising and managing suppliers escalated to level 2 or 3 in the materials group.Involvement in supplier resolution producingsuitabledocuments for customers concerning problem analysis and remedy on siteat the supplier.Creating, further developing and supervising processes, methods and tools of the QM supplier. Planning, coordinating the roll out, preparing training documents and conducting trainings.Involvement in the annual supplier evaluation and quality target agreements with suppliers.Supporting in evaluating and answering manufacturing feasibility evaluations of the suppliers.Involvement in management sourcing for significant tools and large scopes and quantities.
