Assistant Controller PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Controller will be responsible for various financial accounting, reporting and internal control requirements, including: Overseeing preparation of quarterly and annual SEC 10-Q and 10-K filings Preparing executive management and audit committee documents summarizing quarterly results and complex accounting matters Managing external audit relationship Reviewing and contributing to quarterly balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis process Directing month end corporate consolidation close process on a US GAAP basis Leading complex accounting matters in areas including, but not limited to, consolidation, purchase accounting, leasing, revenue recognition, derivatives, stock compensation, debt, pension, restructuring, equity transactions, judgmental accruals, goodwill, segment reporting Implementing new technical accounting guidance including documentation, process changes, system implications and related audit reviews Directing corporate-wide internal controls program and monitoring remediation efforts Overseeing and supporting financial systems and launches as applicable, including general ledger and related sub-systems, consolidation, planning, treasury, hedging, internal controls and reporting systems Supporting policy and process narrative documentation efforts Improving internal control monitoring procedures Leading other finance ad hoc projects as required Serving as a finance liaison on cross-functional project teams Managing team of corporate accounting staff Coordinating regional, product group and plant accounting teams YEARS EXPERIENCE : 10+ years related experience DEGREE STRONGLY PREFERRED : Bachelor's degree with concentration in accounting; CPA is preferred. DESIRED COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE: Must have technical accounting and management experience, demonstrated the ability to work effectively within a team setting, and a willingness to assume new responsibilities in a dynamic environment. Advanced experience in financial reporting systems is highly preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Flexibility in work schedule is necessary to accommodate periods of high volume workload; some overtime will be required, on an as needed basis.
