POSITION SUMMARY The management systems auditor supports all aspects of the management systems audit process through audit planning, execution, reporting, follow-up, and re-audit if necessary. Primary goals are to ensure the ongoing effectiveness and efficiency of the business management system, including its compliance to applicable industry standards (such as but not limited to ISO xxxx/TS xxxx9 and ISO xxxx1), customer specific requirements and corporate requirements. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MS Auditor I and II Internal Audits * Prepare and follow specific audit plans that identify what (ie organization, department and specific requirement), where, when and how (ie audit methodologies to be applied) * Perform audits as planned, documenting the results and the evidence reviewed to verify whether or not processes have been effectively implemented and maintained, and are compliant with requirements, such as industry standards, customer specific requirements and corporate requirements. * Prepare and distribute audit reports, summarizing work papers, flowcharts, and narratives to clearly identify audit findings and recommendations. * Issue corrective action(s) as needed per audit results. * Utilize problem solving skills to assess and approve or reject corrective action plans, based on the documented root cause analysis and the corresponding interim and permanent actions. * Track corrective actions through to completion, including accepting or rejecting the documented verifications of effectiveness. External Audits * Coordinate external audit planning with registration body customer service personnel, external auditors, and internal personnel. * Attend external audits at corporate locations as an agent/delegate of the Yazaki North and Central America management representative. * Assist the organization in identifying evidence of compliance to external auditors and resolving issues relating to non-compliance or the inability to prove compliance. General * Support other projects, tasks, and/or duties as assigned. MS Auditor II * Train, assist and coach MS Auditor I and other corporate team members who have been assigned to support the MS audit program. * Analyze trends in noncompliance and prepare reports for management review, highlighting trends to prompt action. * Recognize and record process waste (MUDA) to promote and help drive efficiency improvement activities. * Analyze and evaluate internal controls, current business flows, policies and procedures, and propose recommendations for action relating to recognized cases of non-compliance, process gaps, and general operational and control improvements. * Consult with internal personnel to provide authoritative interpretations of standards requirements. * Support the development and issuance of management system communications and awareness training. * Conduct or support business management system awareness training presentations and management reviews. * Assist teams responsible for performing audits or assessments that fall outside the scope of the internal management systems audit program; examples can include special customer assessments, production process reviews, warehouse assessments and others. * Assist project activities related to problem solving and improvement within the Office of Quality and at the corporate level when needed. * Monitor the annual audit plan to initiate audit planning processes or to provide status updates to team members to ensure the audit plan is met or revised as needed. * Champion the audit process and drive continual improvement to remove recognized, unnecessary complexities and gain more value from results. * Identify issues affecting corrective action progress or audit scheduling, planning, performance or reporting and inform the supervisor. Degree Requirements: Candidate should have a bachelor's degree or 2 years of experience developing, maintaining and auditing quality or environmental management systems Certification Requirements: CQA or ISO xxxx/TS xxxx9 lead auditor training through an RAB accredited provider is preferred. In absence of these credentials, successful completion of ISOxxxx/TSxxxx9 lead auditor training must occur within 90 days of start date Previous Experience: MS Auditor II: Two years of experience addressing standards compliance as an auditor or subject matter expert is preferred but can be waived when experience and background provides alternative evidence of competency. MS Auditor I: One year of experience in process development, improvement or auditing to ensure compliance to quality or environmental management systems requirements Travel Requirements: Domestic and International travel is required (approximately 25%). Must have a valid passport. Language: English proficiency (reading, writing and speaking) required. Some Spanish (reading and writing) is preferred.
