Job Description: The basic function of the Optical Associate is to attract and retain customers by delivering exceptional customer service, fosters customer retention, and promotes outstanding associate/doctor satisfaction. The essential functions, expected outcomes and results of this position include the following: 1. Drive profitable store sales by fostering a retail selling culture by practicing through role-playing, and using effective retail sales skills. 2. Develops professional business relationships with other Associates and Doctors. 3. Fills ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fits and adapts lenses and frames, to include but not limited to the following: Utilizing optical prescription, evaluates prescription in conjunction with customer's visual requirements; Recommends specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to suit customer needs; Assists customers in the selection of frames and coordinates frames with optical measurements and prescription; Conducts measurements of bridge and eyesize, temple length, pupilary distance and optical centers using appropriate tools. 4. Assists with ensuring each store is effectively merchandised and presented according to Company standards. 5. Ensures high quality through accurate measurements, correct pricing and realistic delivery time quotes. 6. Maximize Managed Vision Care relationships and sales opportunities as measured by: Effective plan administration and local service Improvements in average transaction Locally initiated plans 7. Other duties as assigned by Optical Manager and other Associates Job Requirements: Job Requirements: Position requirements include: 1. Ability to sell through use of sales skills and accountability for sales results. 2. Experience and results with a retail or customer service establishment. 3. Ability to present and implement decisive and creative solutions to issues/opportunities to grow the business. 4. Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed customer expectations as well as foster positive and results-oriented associate, and doctors. 5. Success in store merchandising and attention to detail. 6. Ability to manage priorities through adaptability, willingness to take calculated risks, and follow-up. 7. High school diploma or equivalent, or comparable experience typically achieved with a minimum of 1-2 years in a retail or customer service capacity. 8. Experience with personal computers preferred.
